Story:

Rama Krishna Prasad (Balakrishna) is a powerful leader in Rayalaseema. Politicians and police plan to kill him to get grip over seema politics. They try to hire a professional killer Kittu (Balakrishna) for the job. But he comes to know that Rama Krishna is his father and goes to protect him. Rama Krishna is the son of Harischandra Prasad (Balakrishna), who was a legend in Seema politics. Kittu who was unaware of his family kills Harischandra Prasad and Rama Krishna disowns him. What follows next is a family drama mixed with political touch.

Analysis:

Adhinayakudu has a decent storyline, but the screenplay is dead weak. The director doesn’t have any clue about where to start and where to end it. First half starts on an ordinary note and moves ahead with unnecessary scenes in the name of mass entertainment. Opening scene on Brahmanandam is funny but they have dragged it too much.

So much time is wasted on Lakshmi Rai trying to find the bullet mark on Balakrishna’s bottom! Those scenes are a total waste of time. Only lively scene in entire first half is the intro scene of Rama Krishna Prasad character. His punch dialogues directed at few politicians will be liked by the fans.

Despite starting off well, second half falters with some badly conceived family scenes. Much hyped ‘old getup’ of Balakrishna doesn’t have much to do. However, this is the best in terms of looks. Father character has few powerful scenes and that should be the saving grace. On a whole, Adhinayakudu lacks the spine and spice to be a powerful mass entertainer. Except for few dialogues nothing stands out.

Performances:

Balakrishna has done decent job in all the three characters. His stylist got only one getup right. Other than the old getup, rest of the two characters irks you with bad makeup. The costumes designed for younger version of Balakrishna were too bad.

Lakshmi Rai was just Okay. Saloni was confined to one scene and song. Jayasudha was good. Pradeep Rawat was usual. Kota Srinivasa Rao and Murali Sharma were shown as mere puppets. Brahmanandam did his best to provide laughs with a weird comedy track. There were too many noted actors in insignificant roles.

Technicalities:

Kalyani Malik’s music was below average. Andam Aakumadi and title song were good. Background score was not up to the mark. Editing was too bad. There was no link between many scenes. Cinematography was average. Color grading and CGI was tad ordinary. Production values were fine.

Dialogues written by Paruchuri Murali were good in few scenes. Murali failed as a writer with weak screenplay and poorly conceived scenes. As a director he did an okay job in few scenes. He should have written better screenplay and could have made better use of the three characters. He didn’t care about the logic and took too many cinematic liberties.

Final Word:

Adhinayakudu may appeal to Balakrishna fans as he was seen in three different getups. There were few dialogues that were written keeping them in mind. So fans would pass off this as a decent film. But the film has nothing to offer for other sections of audience.

Story:

Corrupted cop Gabbar Singh ( Pawan Kalyan ), He steals from the bad guys and occasionally passes it on to the poor, wants to narrow the distance with his step brother, and father on the behest of his mother even as he needs to set his own house in order by marrying the vagrant girl (Shruthi hassan) who refuses to succumb to his charms. And if that’s not enough, there’s the local goon and the crumbling administration of the small town that is craving his attention too. Can Gabbar Singh deliver?

Performance:

Pawan Kalyan has undergone Robinhood style of character for the first time in his career, His action as Rowdy Police is Mind-Blowing.His dances, action sequences, comedy carried the  complete grip of the movie.Sruthi Hassan as village girl is good. She added colors to the screen with her fresh looks and beauty. Suhasini and Nagineedu are good upto their mark. Ajay has given best performance after Vikramarkudu it would be better if his character is elevated to some more extent.Abhimanyu Singh is the boon for this movie. He is going to be the one of the best actor for negative roles in South India.

Technical:

Director Harish Shankar taking is excellent, He elevated the heroism at the same time handled the story, though Harish Shankar added some dose over these scenes but still he proved himself to be among top league directors.Music by DSP  is really awesome for the movie ,Kevvu keka would be the mother of all item songs for years ,Re recording ,Back ground is good. Fights by Ram Laxman especially the pre interval and climax fight , editing by Gautam Raju is good, Dialogues were good . Screenplay was perfect.Cameratography  is excellent especially the fights and swiss song picturization.

Analysis:

Though this movie is the remake of Dabbang we will not find the most of the similarities with that movie. Some major changes in the story has been made in entertaining way. 40% of the story has been changed as per the nativity of the telugu audience.The duration of first half is around one hour. It totally runs in speed pace without boring for half second. The first half of the movie will be the best ever for PK fans.
Interval fight at railway station is good.
Coming to second half the movie gets into some emotional scenes and gets slow down as the depth in the story is being evaluated.

The highlights are

Pawan Kalyan entrance on horse is extra-ordinary. The first fight is superb.
Pawan Kalyan enters into market in Rikshaw which has back ground song “Ee petaku nene mesthri” is quite entertaining.
Love scenes are romantic and good.
Anthyakshari scene in Police Station is hilarious.
Songs are picturized in stylish manner with complete mass formula.
Kevv keka song adds energy during pre-climax.
Climax is nothing but one word Awesome.
Minus Points :
Ajay has a very small role and does not have much to do. Same goes for Kota Srinivasa Rao. Except for the ‘Mandu Babulam’ song, he does not have any significant role in the film. There have been some major changes in the script, particularly in the second half and perhaps, the original storyline from Dabangg should have been used. Tanikella Bharani’s role does not do justice to his talent.

Verdict:

Full meals of entertainment for every one.

Ram Charan’s look in Zanjeer

Ram Charan is right now in Mumbai shooting for his Bollywood debut Zanjeer. Charan is playing the role of a tough cop in this movie. His look from this film is officially not revealed yet. Here is a picture of Charan where he posed for camera on the sets of Zanjeer.

Charan is working out for hours at the gym to suit the role of a cop. Few sections of media are speculating that Charan will appear shirtless in this film. Priyanka Chopra is playing the female lead. Director Apoorva Lakhia is expecting this film to do well in Bollywood as well as in the southern circuit too.

Zanjeer might release during next summer. Ram Charan will soon return to Hyderabad and start fresh schedule for Vinayak’s film.

Story

Betting Raju (Charan) is famous for his clever bets, and for earning huge money for a cause he gets into betting with James (Ajmal Ameer) for 20 Lakhs to make the Chaitra (Tamanna), a billionaire fall for him. He comes to the city on this purpose and joins as a medico in a college where Chaitra studies. Finally, Chaitra falls in love with Raj after few incidents. Meanwhile, Ballari (Mukesh Rishi), a powerful mining don enters the scene as Chaitra’s father and where this story leads to is to be watched on the big-screens.

Performances

Ram Charan is terrific in the film. His desperation to score a hit can be seen on screens. Watching Charan’s body language reminds you of Chiranjeevi and the fans will definitely enjoy it. His energy levels are high in fights, dances. Ram Charan sure gets nearer to masses with Racha.

Tamanna looked extremely hot in the film. She is on par with Ram Charan in dances and it’s a visual feast to watch her in Vana Vana song. She has set the screens on fire with her scintillating moves and expressions. Tammu has always been evolving as an actor and she sure seem to be reaching top chair.

Brahmanandam is hilarious as dance master Rangeela, Ali, Jayaprakash Reddy, Dharamavarapu Subramanyam brought few laughs. Parthiban is brief but leaves an impact, Ajamal Ameer is impressive, Mukesh Rishi, Kota Srinivasa Rao turned out good villains.

Technical Analysis

The film is technically brilliant with producers spending lavishly on the product without any compromise. Sameer Reddy’s cinematography is on top notch. The exotic locales are beautiful captured. Mani Sharma’s music is fine with title track and Dillaku Dillaku being ear-pleasing while Vana Vana is shot aesthetically. Background score is an asset again elevating lot of action scenes. Dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers are on expected note. Editing is not smooth, Action sequences are choreographed well.

Analysis

After the disastrous Orange, Ram Charan took a long break to get back in form and Racha is definitely such a film to prove his capabilities. This time he did not try to experiment but went formulaic to establish himself and is in desperation to score a hit. And Racha worked for this. Sampath Nandi as said earlier, he did not get a great story for Racha but took the maximum care on screenplay and commercial format and tried to elevate the hero’s character. Sampath seem to have kept fans in his mind and his aim was to impress all the fans and he succeeded in it. The songs are the visual feast. Ram Charan has stunned with his dances in Title track and Dillaku, though the latter was in wrong placement. Scenes like Ram Charan doing Shankar Dada MBBS, proposing the lead lady, Charan-Brahmi combo scenes got thunderous response.

The first half of Racha was quite entertaining with good comedy, fights and dances while the second half unfolds the story and the much talked bamboo fight sequence came out well. With a good twists and twirls and a powerful climax, second half turned a good watch.

Content wise, Racha is not a unique one but it does not fail to impress you or keep you engrossed with the good entertainment. And with the long weekend ahead and no big release in the coming week, Racha assures to turn commercial hit.

Final Word:

Racha is for the masses. It has been a while since any mega hero did an out and out mass entertainer. Racha will be a treat for mega fans and will click with the B and C centers audiences. The success range will depend on how well they embrace it.

Story:

Arun (Siddarth) and Parvathi (Amala Paul) fall in love with each other. But the couple gets separated due to some circumstances and ego clashes. Arun narrates his love story and also the experiences of his friends. He comes to know that every love story is the same and realizes that misunderstandings and quarrels are common in everybody’s love. How Arun and Parvathi finally unites is the conclusion of this cute love story.

Analysis:

Love Failure is a very cute and sweet film which is told in a refreshing manner. Hero plays the narrator role in this film and that has been used to perfection by the director. There are many campus laughs and sweet nothings that have been brought on to the screen in a delightful manner.

There is a matured love track on Suresh and Surekha Vani which runs parallel to the actual story. There are also few sub plots, all about various types of love. It is a very difficult job for the director to get the screenplay right for this type of movies. Balaji Mohan excelled in this department.

There is not even single dull moment in the film. Saying so, one would have to connect with the narrative. It won’t appeal to every type of audience. It does work with the multiplex junta and college going youth. Love Failure impresses the target audience and audience who crave for masala films may not like it.

Performances:

Siddarth is terrific in this film. He hasn’t carried that melodramatic look from Bommarillu into this movie and that is a refreshing change. Amala Paul is natural. Her eyes are extremely expressive. She is a treat to watch. Suresh is fine and so is Surekha Vani. Siddarth’s friends are likeable. The pair that played Sid parents delivered decent performances. Most of the actors are newcomers and they came up with confident and natural performances

Technicalities:

Thaman’s music is good. Especially the background score is impressive. A couple of songs are good. Cinematography is wonderful. Editing is crisp. Dialogues are neat. The film is made on a budget, but there is no compromise upon the quality of the film.

Director Balaji Mohan is the find of the season. His script is superb and the way he executed it is awesome. The director didn’t bother about the so called commercial values and did justice to the script. That is the beauty of this film.

Final Word:

Love Failure should work commercially as it appeals to the target audience. It is made on a medium budget and it should recover its costs despite being restricted to certain sections of audience. If you are looking for a beautiful romantic tale, this is the film. Go, fail in love! 

Nippu Movie Review

Story:

Surya (Raviteja) and Sriram (Sriram) are close friends. Sriram faces death sentence in Saudi Arabia, as they believe that he has killed his lover Vaishnavi (Bhavana). But the fact is Vaishnavi accidentally dies by falling from the roof top. Now Surya has a task on hands.

He has to get a letter from Vaishnavi’s parents to save his friend from death sentence. Surya comes to know that Vaishnavi is the daughter of Raja Goud (Pradeep Rawath), who has been waiting to take revenge on Surya as he rubbed him on the wrong side. Surya realizes that convincing Raja to sign the papers is not easy.

There is another person who is against Raja. He is Shankar Kaka (Mukul Dev). Surya join hands with him and gives a deadly blow to Raja. What happens next is the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Nippu doesn’t boast of great script. The storyline is tad ordinary. There is nothing sparkling or startling about the subject. We have seen such mindless action films many a time. So the director should have come up with an interesting screenplay to keep the audience glued.

Sadly, that didn’t happen as the screenplay is pretty bad right from the word go. None of the scenes are connected or interlinked. This is perhaps the weakest film among Gunasekhar’s movies in terms of screenplay. First half of the film is pretty boring and tests your patience.

Things get bit interesting at the start of the second half and there are few funny scenes between Raviteja and Brahmanandam in this part. But Gunasekhar failed to maintain the same momentum and carry it until the climax. Second half of second half is lengthy and gets on to your nerves.

Too many action episodes and too much fuss about nothing make Nippu unbearable. The track on Deesksha Seth is not properly handled. Even Raviteja fails to shoulder the film this time.

Performances:

Ever energetic Raviteja looked uninterested in this movie. He simply sleep walked through the character. His usual brand of comic timing is missing too. At times he tried his best to lift the spirits. His combination scenes with Brahmanandam are okay to some extent.

Deesksha Seth is cute. But she needs to learn how to act. She failed to get the basic expressions right which is not a good sign for an upcoming actress. Rajendra Prasad is fine in his limited role. Sriram is just okay. Pradeep Rawath is usual. Brahmanandam’s presence is felt. Mukul Dev is alright. Brahmaji and others did their best as per the script and characterizations.

Technicalities:

Thaman’s music is a big letdown. He has been in terrific form in the recent past and Nippu comes as a shocker from the in form music director. Background score is ordinary too. Cinematography is topnotch and Production values are very good. Editing is not up to the mark. Dialogues are average.

Gunasekhar has once again disappointed with a poor script and bad direction. He is yet to hit the form and Nippu will further harm his reputation. Gunasekhar should concentrate on the script as he still has that in him to make a complete action entertainer. Accepting stories from other writers may help him to get back to pre Okkadu days.

Final Word:

Nippu is a routine film with too many fights and weak script. Only Raviteja is the saving grace and it is highly doubtful for him to save this film from sinking at the box office.

Story:

Surya (Mahesh Babu) comes to Mumbai with a sole aim to become “Bhai” for the city. He starts his mission by recruiting rowdies for monthly salaries. He eyes Mumbai Police Commissioner’s daughter Chitra (Kajal) and loves her. How did he become Bhai and turn out to a big Businessman, forms rest of the story.

Analysis:

There is no story in the film except for a line or two. Puri Jagannadh has written a character and fixed it in a setup. Mumbai mafia is the backdrop of the film. Hero enters the city when there are no opponents at all. So his aim becomes easy and he reaches to the top within no time.

There is a little flashback to him in his childhood, which has nothing to do with his goal though. Even the romantic thread doesn’t have the soul. Businessman is typical Puri film with loads of rowdies and cops scattered all over the screen.

Puri has been doing the same since Pokiri and this time he got the best man in business to be his Businessman. It is Mahesh Babu’s show all the way. His intense performance and powerful dialogues keeps the film alive. There is that humorous angle added to his character and he and only he entertains you as there are no comedians in this film.

Businessman will be liked by Mahesh fans and people who love action movies that defy logic and take all the liberties of filmmaking. It won’t appeal to audience who look for wholesome entertainment and a well written script with well crafted scenes.

Performances:

Mahesh Babu is the lifeline for this film. He excelled as Surya Bhai from the start to end. Watch out for his fire filled eyes and also his naughty one liners that he exchanges with Kajal. His fans will adore him as Surya Bhai.

Kajal is just okay. Despite having many scenes in the film, her character is poorly etched and therefore she failed to make an impression. Nazar is neat. Brahmaji is fine. Prakash Raj is routine. Sayaji does his usual things.

Technicalities:

Dialogues by Puri Jagannadh are the best part in this film. If you like a certain scene in Businessman that is because of the good dialogues in it.  There are so many thoughtful dialogues in typical Puri style. Thaman’s music is good. He did a fine job with the background score and scored a couple of real chartbuster numbers. Cinematography is neat, editing is slick. On the technical front, it is like every Puri Jagannadh’s film. Production values are top notch.

Direction by Puri Jagannadh is poor. Screenplay is racy but there is nothing to talk about. He simply placed scene after scene without much purpose. There are certain things in the film which demands director’s brilliance. But Puri didn’t mind to put in some mind into those. The film is completely away from logic and reality. It is a mindless entertainer which depends on the hero. As a director Puri did nothing to be proud of this product.

Final Word:

Businessman will set new benchmark in terms of openings. But will it sustain in long run depends on how other sections of audience react to it other than Mahesh Babu fans. Worth a watch for Mahesh Babu and Puri dialogues!

Rajanna is the film that hit the screen when the expectations of people were set on reasonable levels. The main reason for the expectations are that Rajamouli is behind its action episodes. And even musically the film scored good points.
Story:
The movie is set on 1948 Nelakondapalli village in Adilabad district. Lakshmamma (Sneha) is the mother of an infant girl child Mallamma (Baby Annie) who leaves her into a river like Kunti did to Karna for the fear of Razakars chasing to kill. Lakshmamma gets killed. Mallamma is rescued by Sambayya, a village man who nurtures her like his grand daughter like Kanva did for Shakunthala.
Sambayya knows that Mallamma is the daughter of Lakshmamma and Rajanna(Nagarjuna) a great freedomn fighter against British and also the rescuer of them from unscrupulous doras of gadis.
The girl Mallamma is good at singing since childhood. But dorasani (Sweta Menon) hates that. She orders her not to sing and punishes severely. Then the girl goes to Delhi to complaint to PM Nehru. What happens from then has to be watched on screen.
Performances:
Nagarjuna is at his best. He deserves commendations for doing such inspiring role. He looked strong with toned up muscles. He is physically inspiring.
Sneha is homely and looked sensuous in a song.
Annie is the highlight. She deserves awards for sure.
Alapati Lakshmi and Telangana Shakuntala appeared in notable but short roles. Ajay, Pradeep Rawat and Supreet are also guests with reasonable roles. Model Sreedhar excelled surprisingly and even Sweta Menon is at her best. Ravi Kale who is widely seen in Bollywood films appeared in a local dora's role.

Analysis:
The film takes us back into the Razakars’ era. Hearts melt and eyes spill tears, while we watch the first half. One has to appreciate the efforts put in by Rajamouli and his team in pumping in emotion in key sequences. Yes, the film might been directed by Vijayendra Prasad, father of Rajamouli, but the ace director’s deft handling of the project was clearly evident. Especially, the action sequences, the tyranny of feudal lords in Gadis and the atrocities perpetrated by the cronies of Nizam on the people of Telangana ignite the spirit of patriotism among the audience.
It is definitely a notable film in the career of Nagarjuna. Yes, after Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu, this is one film that he can boast of as yet another precious jewel in his crown.
Annie deserves a great commendation and there are many chances for her to score brownie points by the juries of several award committees. She portrayed the role up to the perfection beyond her age.
Except a few liberties taken by the director that are hard to be digested by the sane audience, rest of the film is a must watch for an experience and to know the cruel incidents happened on the land of Telugus a few decades ago.
The first half is shouldered by little girl Annie in the role of Mallamma and Nagarjuna enters the screen just a few moments before interval. His entry scene – with British chaining the hero like they had done for Katta Bommanna – might create a feeling of hackneyed screenplay, but as the story runs, his character gets elevated. He seldom fights but instigates people to fight against tyranny. That’s awesome. This is the character inspired from Suddala Hanumanthu who used to evoke fighting spirit among the people with his songs.
The film has enough material for the Telugu people to experience the history. As a matter of fact, the film hasn’t shown too much of the atrocities committed by the Razakars on native people but, it just shows the glimpses of them, like a few shocking scenes such as weighing the breasts of women with money. Kudos to the censor board for allowing such bold scenes on screen with due respect to history.
To sum up, the film deserves patronage from audience for its content rich songs, emotional RR and bold depiction of history.

Bottom Line: Watch it

Story:

Jai (Pawan Kalyan) is a loyal follower of Bhagavan (Jackie Shroff), who is a big don in Kolkata. Kulakarni (Atul Kulakarni) is the rival of Bhagavan. Jai has a friend named Jahnavi (Anjali Lavania) who is a club dancer. Bhagavan’s sadistic son Munna (Adivi Seshu) has an eye on her. Meanwhile Jai falls in love with Sandhya (Sarah Jane). Munna kills Jahnavi as she rejects him. Then Jai kills him in turn. Now Jai becomes the prime target for Bhagavan. What happens next is to be seen on the screen.
Analysis:

Panjaa is mainly an action drama laced with romance. Director Vishnu Vardhan didn’t try to focus on Pawan Kalyan’s star image. He scripted the story and character as per his will and he did what he believed in.

This may not go down well with the loyalists of Pawan Kalyan. There isn’t any special mark of Pawan Kalyan in the film. It is Vishnu Vardhan’s film with Pawan playing the lead role. So, obviously there isn’t any glorified heroism or build up. Class fans of Pawan Kalyan may like this new dimension, but mass fans might be terribly disappointed.

The story takes off on a slow note and drags until the character of Adivi Sesh turns wild. The buildup towards the interval is the best part in the film as per the screenplay is concerned. Second half starts on a completely different note. Lot of under developed clichéd characters enters the frame and it only gets interesting towards the end. In the middle there is Paparayudu song to pump in some energy.

On a whole, Panjaa is a technically well made film which didn’t have the legs to survive at the box office for a long period. A lot will depend on Pawan Kalyan’s crowd pulling capabilities to bail out this one from sinking at the box office.
Performances:

Pawan Kalyan underplayed his character to the perfection. He is believable as the loyal follower of a deadly don. His getup is Okay and his dances in Paparayudu song will be a treat to fans. Sarah Jane Dias lacks the looks, but carries off her character in an Okay manner. Anjali Lavania is hot looking but again lacks good looks. Sesh Adivi is a revelation. He delivered a mind blowing performance as a sadistic villain.

Jackie Shroff is alright and Atul Kulakarni is stiff. Brahmanandam excelled in Paparayudu song sequence. Ali is neat. Subba Raju is fine. Tanikella Bharani is good as a wicked man.
Technicalities:

Dialogues by Abburi Ravi are not up to the mark. There are very few lines which sound good and seems like some thought is put in. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is good. Ela Ela song is superb. Songs are not utilized by the director. Placing title song after the end card is a blunder. Background score is very good. Cinematography is awesome and editing is very fine. Production values are laudable.

Director Vishnu Vardhan showed his brilliance in few scenes. He excelled in getting the action part right. There are many plot holes and loose ends in the film. As a script writer Vishnu showed some hurriedness and failed to make it a rounded script. Writer in him has let down the director.

Final Word:

Panjaa is a stylishly made action film which may not appeal to all the sections of audience. People who look for some novelty in dealing a star’s film without all those clichés may like it. The percentage of such audience will be always low and let’s see if Panjaa sets a new trend in bringing a sea change to our Tollywood style.

Story:

This is the film about three friends and their different love stories.

1st one: Anand (Ajay) is a brilliant student but is confused about decision making. He takes one year off from his studies to decide about his next step. He falls in love with Archana (Yami), who is a neighbor of his. She is a great admirer of cricketer Vishnu and when Anand decides to express his love to Archana, he comes to know that she is in love with Vishnu.

2nd one: Raju (Prasad) is a violinist and comes to Hyderabad to pursue his career in film industry. He accidentally bumps into Rani (Ramya) whom he hates to the core. He feels that she brings bad luck to him. In one unavoidable situation they get married.

3rd one: Mahesh (Havish) dreams to become a famous male model. He breaks up with Madhavi (Sarayu) and she tries to teach him a lesson by pitching a gay Shailu (Haleem) against him. Mahesh’s life turns into a terrible mishap after that.

How all these stories end up is what this film is about.

Analysis:

Ravibabu is clear about the target audience for this film and he never tried to get away from that. He introduced the characters in a simple yet funny way and started to unfold their crazy/stupid love stories in an entertaining manner. Apart from stupidity there is also some sincerity in this comedy film and that angle is dealt well in the form of Ajay-Archana love story.

Despite being thoroughly entertaining the film does irritate a bit due to repetitive scenes and an overdose of adult (read gay) comedy. However, there are some truly hilarious scenes which will make you laugh like hell. First half is breezy and second half lags a bit in the middle. Climax is over the top but funny.

Nuvvila is a youthful film which will appeal to the target audience and enjoyed by the people who love to watch mindless comedies.

Performances:

Ravibabu’s biggest success in this film is getting the star cast right. Barring Radha Kumari and a couple of known faces, all others are newcomers and they did well to make the characters believable.

Prasad is a riot. He spells ‘sa’ as ‘la’ and all those scenes highlighting that weakness are good. Ramya complimented him well with a decent performance.

Havish is natural. His expressions and comedy timing are too good. Ajay is good but could’ve done better. His outburst in the climax scene didn’t come out as expected. On a whole he isn’t that bad.

Yami is beautiful and really angelic like the director portrayed her in the introduction scene. She is a very good actress too. Ravibabu is perfect. Rest of the cast did their best to keep up the spirit of the movie.

Technicalities:

Although Nuvvila was made on a shoestring budget, there isn’t any lack of quality. Cinematographer, art department did a very good job. Editing is neat. Music is fine. Songs are interlaced in the narrative and are good on ears too. Shekar Chandra’s background score is also good.

Ravibabu came up with another decent youthful comedy and proves that he is the best in business to pull off a film with completely unknown faces. His sense of humor is the USP of this film. Saying so, he should have toned down the A rated comedy a bit to make it appealing to all the classes.

Final Word: Nuvvila: Watch it!

Story:

Ram Prasad alias Bujji (Gopi Chand) is the son of Anjaneya Prasad (Rajendra Prasad), a rich man and social activist. Prasad wants his son Bujji to get married and settle in life. After few failed attempts to find a bride, Bujji falls in love with RajaRajeshwari alias Raji (Taapsee) in first look. Raji is the daughter of Chamundeswari, a powerful political leader (Roja). Both the families are happy for the couple and they get married in a grand manner. Small issue rises when they are about to send Raji with Bujji. That turns into an ugly brawl and the couple gets separated then and there. What happens next is the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Krishna Vamsi did well in building up the story. There are few ‘overtone’ scenes which seemed bad in taste, but on a whole the flow is neat until interval point. During the mid break, the film changes color and Krishna Vamsi brought that on to the screen in a convincing manner. He has brilliantly shown how small ego clashes lead to big fights in marriages.

The overall feel at the interval time will be positive and raises hopes over the next hour. But Krishna Vamsi found it tough to change the mood of the film all of a sudden. He faltered a bit and the confusions in the characters and their behavior is clearly visible. The movie changes track when it lands in Mauritius. Despite being funny at times, the whole situation looks forced and unconvincing.

The last act in the film was dealt pretty badly. Although that is the only conclusion, he could give to this story, Krishna Vamsi pumped in too much drama and the characters behave in a weird fashion that they get on audience nerves. Mogudu is sheer disappointment on a whole. Despite preaching family values it won’t appeal to family audiences too.

Performances:

Gopi Chand is good in his elements. His character is different from his regular roles. His mass fans will be disappointed to see him an in a very soft role. Taapsee tried to prove herself as a good actress and it is certainly her best portrayal till date. However, dubbing on her own without knowing the language isn’t a good ploy. At times she hammed a bit and failed to give right expressions in few scenes. She sizzled on the glamour front.

Shradha Das added the necessary spice. She is okay in her role. Rajendra Prasad is good when his character is soft and humble. But his characterization is unconvincing in the second half where it behaves very odd and immature. Roja is good and this character is tailor made for her. Naresh is fine. Venu Madhav is average. All others did well within their limitations.

Technicalities:

Babu Shankar’s music is an asset. Almost all the songs are good. Background score is perfect. Sirivennela’s lyrics deserve applause. Cinematography is good and editing is alright. Production values are good.

Krishna Vamsi is neither completely out of touch nor on top. There are flashes of brilliance in certain scenes. ‘Over the top’ drama has been doing harm to his works in the recent times and yet again he couldn’t get over that weakness in Mogudu. His writing and handling in the second half is pretty poor.

Final Word: Disappointing!

Story:
Tony (NTR) is a typical character who changes moods and colors as per the situation. He meets Niharika (Tamanna) in an awkward situation which leads to love. He falls in love with her and chases her day and night. He gets to know that she is already in love with someone, but chases her down till she falls in love with him. At this point the other side of him is revealed which gives us the answers for the unanswered. Actually he is on a mission to kill an entire mafia empire. Why does he do that? For whom does he work for? Watch the movie for answers.

Analysis:
Oosaravelli starts off on a high note with excellent intro scene of hero. The hero character is introduced in such a way that audience expects him to play mind games and wise tricks all the time. But the film turns out to be a love story after that hyped introduction. This part is dealt in an entertaining with NTR, Raghubabu, MS Narayana and Jayaprakash Reddy doing the honors of filling in fun moments. The real story will only start before interval and the interval scene has really come out well. The graph picks up suddenly and sets high expectations on the second half.

Second half will reveal about the hero’s mission and why he has been under disguise. This part mostly deals with the heroine and it may not be liked by hardcore NTR fans. He goes missing for more than ten minutes and the film considerably slows down. Movie takes a serious turn and comedy takes the backseat. Director tried to force comedy in bits and pieces in the second hour but it didn’t gel well.

Script wise, Oosaravelli is good barring few plot holes. But where it fails is with balancing NTR’s mass image with the hero’s characterization. Director had to sacrifice mind games and intelligent play for the sake of satisfying NTR fans, which didn’t help the film much. On a whole Oosaravelli can be watched once for its entertaining first half, interesting plot and performances of the lead star cast.

Commercially it may suffer because of going against NTR image. NTR city based fans and youth may be satisfied to see him in a new avatar, but his core audience from the B and C centers will have too many complaints with the film.

Performances:
It is good to see NTR switching genres. He did a completely different role in this movie which is more of a lover boy and less of an action hero. He also tried comedy and underplayed the emotions. It is refreshing to see him in this movie. He has to keep a check on the weight as he is gaining few kilos. His dances in Dandia India are good.

Tamanna got a very good role and she excelled in it. Generally heroines don’t get much scope in star heroes films. But this film is an exception and Tamanna lapped it up. She is gorgeous in few scenes.

Prakash Raj is routine. Jayaprakash and Raghubabu are funny. MS Narayana shared few laughs. Kick Shyam is brief and Rehaman is Okay. Sayaji Shinde’s role is half baked. Harika (Payal Ghosh) gives a neat performance.

Technicalities:
Koratala Siva dialogues worked in places. On a whole lacked the necessary punch. Devi Sri Prasad’s background score is fabulous. Two songs are very good. Rasool camera is one of the highlights of the movie. Action part is dealt well. There are few action scenes but are shot in an exciting fashion. Production values are rich.

Surender Reddy did well as a director to handle the script well. However, he is off balance at times as he is ‘confused’ to stick with the content or to go with NTR’s mass image. He should have opted for a small hero instead of choosing a star for this script, which would have done wonders for him.


Final Word:
        Don’t expect a brand NTR film!

Story:

Seenu (Ram), who didn't even complete his graduation comes to city with an aim to complete degree. But he falls for Shruti (Hansika) at the first sight and comes to know that she is facing problem with a thug Bhavani (Sonu Sood), who wants to marry her against her wish. Seenu confronts Bhavani and a challenge from Bhavani gives an opportunity for Seenu to win Shruti's love. One Seenu gets over Bhavani, he falls into a bigger problem called Rajanna (Jaya Prakash Reddy). Rajanna's daughter Sandhya (Aksha) loves Seenu at first sight and asks her father to get her married to him. Now, Seenu has to use his brains to get out of this problem as he knows that sheer muscle power isn't enough to get over Rajanna.

Analysis:

Kandireega is a routine fare in which the protagonist can beat hundreds of goons at will. When a problem arises where he can't just flex his muscles, the protagonist falls on mind games and tricks to fool the villains. This is the success formula that was used in many films like Dhee, Ready and to some extent in Brindavanam too.

The first half races ahead with not much story. Director filled the film with good comedy and entertaining elements to keep the audience interested. However, the film goes overboard towards the interval, where the hero does fight after fight to prove his strength to both villain and heroine. Things gets settled when the hero starts to use his brain. Few characters in the film take absolute U turn in this hour and makes this a laugh riot.

Even though the scenes and characters that we see on screen are familiar, we won't complaint as the movie entertains to the maximum. Director did well to keep the audience focused with few screenplay tricks and made the better use of most of the star cast to inject comedy. There are times where the director tries too much to make it a comedy caper but it is covered by the performances.

If this film has a better audio and better looking heroines it would have worked out better. Compromise on few things may affect its prospects. Nevertheless Kandireega works due to the funny moments and ample entertainment.

Performances:

Ram is energetic as usual but gives a feeling that e\he is talking and doing so much for his frame and age. Director should have toned down action part and massy dialogues to make this character more believable. Hansika is on the heavier side and looked elder to Ram in few scenes. She is not at all pleasing in few scenes. Aksha did well with the Telangana accent but she too suffers bad looks in this movie.

Sonu Sood character has two shades in this film. He is brilliant and perhaps the hero of this film. In some frames he looked handsome and fierce than Ram. Jaya Prakash Reddy is good in a routine role. Raghu Babu is okay. Brahmanandam rocked in one scene. Rest of the star cast did well within limitations.

Tehnicalities:

Dialogues are good in comedic scenes but could've been better in the conversations between Ram and Sonu Sood. Music by Thaman is not up to the mark. Except Champakamala... none of the songs have repeat value. Andrew's cinematography is fine and so is the editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. He should have trimmed it as it lasted for almost 2 hour 45 minutes. Production values are okay.

Debutante Santosh Srinivas did well to make his debut count. He can handle commercial entertainers with panache. He also has a good sense of screenplay which comes handy in long run.

Plus Points:

- Ram energy
- Comedy

Minus points:

- Goes overboard in action sequences
- Deja vu feel in the film
- Music
- Hansika

Final Word: This Kandireega's sting is sweet and fun!

Box office predictions: Dhada's dismal show will benefit this movie at the box office. Dearth of good Telugu movies in the recent past would also help the course. Kandireega should be a winner all the way.

Thaman is giving the music for the first time to Venkatesh.

 What is Mahesh Babu doing in politician attire? A leaked photo from Dookudu sets has been attracting many an eye with unusual getup of Mahesh Babu. He is dressed up as a politician in it. Fans believe that Mahesh is donning the getup of politician in Dookudu besides a cop role.

Srinu Vytla is taking utmost care to not to give any idea about the plot of this film. Even the trailers and photos of this movie reveal nothing about the film. Dookudu makers are not at all happy for this politician getup being leaked on the net.

As far as the buzz is concerned this photo is actually raising the expectations on the film due to curiosity factor. We have to wait until the film is released to know why and how is Mahesh Babu’s character connected to politics.

Story:

Vishwa (Naga Chaitanya) and Rajeev (Sriram) are brothers who love each other very much. Vishwa who is an adventurous guy falls for a multi millionaire's daughter Rhea (Kajal). Rhea's father (Mukesh Rushi) fixes her marriage with a billionaire. Meanwhile, Vishwa saves a girl from a gang of thugs which in turn affects the multi crore business of human trafficking run by RD (Rahuil Dev) and Kelly (Kelly Dorjee). RD starts to hunt for Vishwa and then the movie ends on an expected noted after the director throws in few twists and turns.

Analysis:

Dhada has the style, grandeur, capable star cast and excellent technical crew, but what it lacks is a solid script. The plot itself is a very familiar and uninteresting one. Even the screenplay isn't engaging at all. Right from the word go, the movie tests the audience patience and turns torturous with each passing minute. Director has gone for all style little substance kind of film, which doesn't appeal to any section of audience.

The richness in the film and the exotic visuals are the only saving grace. Even the characters are under developed and due to that an able star cast gone wasted. The film drags and drags on in the second hour that few audiences in the auditorium lost patience and started booing. The last half an hour is extremely unbearable as the director tried his level best to make things interesting. Dialogue writer's inefficiency added to the woes.

Music is not bad and not good either. None of the songs were picturized well too. Awful makeup of Kajal didn't help the proceedings. On a whole, Dhada is a pretty badly made film with crores of money spent by the producer on absolutely nothing.

Performances:

Naga Chaitanya tried to prove himself as a good mass hero. But he needs to wait for some more time to look old enough to take up such roles. His diction is so bad in few scenes in alright at times. He can't pronounce few Telugu words perfectly and that is not a welcome sign for a Telugu hero. He worked a bit on his dances and fights. He is just okay with them.

Kajal's role looked like as if it was written after Titanic heroine's role. She did fine as a damsel in distress. But the makeup and styling of her not at all good. She looked awkward with that barbie doll kind of hairstyle.

Rahul Dev's character is not properly etched. Kelly Dorjee is typecast yet again. Sriram looked weak and uninterested throughout the film. Sameeksha switched to character roles with this film. Brahmanandam did everything possible to make the audience laugh but hardly succeeded. Ali too is wasted and so are the comedians who did few cameo appearances.

Tehnicalities:

Dialogues by Abburi Ravi didn't have the necessary zing. His work ranged from ordinary to hopeless in this film.
Music by Devi Sri Prasad is standard. None of the songs have the repeat value. Background score is not so great. Cinematography is slick and probably the best of the technical departments. Editing is not up to the mark. Production values are rich.

Director Ajay Bhuyan can make a film stylishly and that is what the impression you get on him after watching Dhada. He needs to work on various departments to call himself a director.

Plus Points:

- Richness and visuals
- Slick cinematography

Minus points:

- Weak script
- Poor direction

Final Word: Dhada for audience and also the buyers!

Box office predictions: It should open good due to lack of watchable Telugu films in the recent past. But the film didn't have a single plus to survive at the box office. Lot will depend on tomorrow's release Kandireega.
